About

In order to meet the demands of growth in the GTA and to continue the safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to our current and future customers, Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc. (Enbridge) is upgrading its existing distribution system.

After a year-long regulatory review process under the Ontario Energy Board (OEB), Enbridge received approval to proceed with the project in January 2014.  Click on the link to view the OEB Decision.

The GTA Project will add new gas pipelines and facilities to the existing network that currently delivers natural gas to Brampton, Mississauga, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, and Toronto.

The GTA Project involves the installation of approximately 50km of new large diameter natural gas pipeline separated into Segment A and Segment B (map).  The routes are located primarily within utility corridors, which are designed to hold pipelines and other types of linear infrastructure.
